 Monitor Well Purging and Excavation

Before a Underground Oil Tank  can be removed from the excavation there are some steps that need to take place before the work can begin. First we have to call in a Utility Mark-out and then obtain a Demolition/ Removal Permit from the Local Building Department to make an appointment for the removal and Inspection. Once on site, the overburden soils around the tank have to be removed and the underground oil tank must be cut and cleaned in place before it can be removed. The pictures to the right show a typical tank cleaning with our Vacuum Truck, to recover oil and tank bottom sludges, keeping the site clean at all times is a must. FABCOR transports Product  to LORCO Recycling Facility In Elizabeth New Jersey

Once the underground tank is cleaned it can be removed from the excavation to await inspection from the Local Inspection Authority. The Inspector is there to inspect the tank, check the tank for corrosion holes, while on site he also inspects the soil on bottom of the excavation, to check the soil for odors or petroleum staining. Once approved FABCO is then able to remove the tank from the site, backfill the excavation with certified clean fill materials to grade, hand rake, reuse top soil, grade and spread grass seed."Outside of the bear spot you would not know you had a tank removed".
